Supporting University Mental Health Day

University Mental Health Day is an annual awareness day that invites people to join the conversation around student mental health, with the aim of bringing everyone together to make mental health a university-wide priority.

In support of University Mental Health Day, we’re sharing how our imabi Inspire platform can be used to support student wellbeing in universities.

What is University Mental Health Day?

This year, University Mental Health Day takes place on Thursday 14th March 2024.

Centred around the belief that no student should be held back by their mental health, recent research from the awareness campaign has found that 1 in 4 students have a diagnosed mental health issue.

The same research identified that 30% of students felt their mental health had deteriorated since starting university, whilst 1 in 4 respondents shared that they wouldn’t know where to go to get mental health support at their educational institution if they needed it.

These kinds of statistics are the reason that the annual awareness day exists, run in collaboration between Student Minds and the University Mental Health Advisors Network

What is imabi Inspire?

imabi Inspire is an all-in-one safeguarding and wellness solution, designed to address the wellbeing and personal safety concerns of students.

Our app provides users with access to reporting, guidance and trusted information which is exclusively tailored for each school, college or university that acquires a licence. The imabi admin portal allows staff to create and manage customised content for their individual institutions.

For more details about the features included within imabi Inspire, take a look at our recent blog about how the platform can help universities with supporting their students.

How Does imabi Inspire Support Student Mental Health in Universities?

Both on and beyond University Mental Health Day, we recognise how important it is that students feel supported and know where to report any welfare concerns, with access to assistance whenever they need it on campus.

Making this process more straightforward is what imabi Inspire is for, hosting links to key charities and organisations for guidance and advice, as well as the ability to directly dial helplines from within the app.

If you’d like to find out more about imabi, and how it could help you or perhaps an organisation you represent or work for, get in touch with one of our team.
